Chuchotage is a personal app for live speech translation. This policy explains what the app uses and where it goes.

What the app uses

When you start translation, Chuchotage uses the audio you choose, the language you want to hear, and your saved app settings. It may also use your ChatGPT sign-in, your OpenAI key, or a trial setting if you choose one.

How it is used

Your audio is used to make the live translation after you press start. Any live text shown in the app is only for the current session. Chuchotage does not save a transcript history.

What stays on your device

Your sign-in, OpenAI key, trial setting, language choice, and audio settings are stored on your device using the secure storage provided by the operating system. You can remove saved app data from the app or your device settings.

Website language selection

The website has a language selector. If you have not chosen a language, the site may ask Chuchotage for a rough language suggestion based on country. Your manual language choice is saved in your browser.

What is shared

Chuchotage does not sell personal information, show ads, or use tracking tools. During translation, audio is sent to OpenAI so the translation can work. OpenAI handles that data under its own data rules. If you use a trial, Chuchotage may receive basic request information to start translation, but not your transcript text. Audio does not pass through Chuchotage.

Permissions

Depending on your device, Chuchotage may ask for microphone access, notification access, Bluetooth-related access for headsets, screen or system-audio permission for device audio, and internet access for translation.

Retention

The developer does not receive or store your source audio, translated audio, live transcripts, or sign-in through Chuchotage. App data remains on your device until you clear it, replace it, or remove the app. Device backups are controlled by your operating system.

Children

Chuchotage is not directed to children under 13.
